Analisis Semantik Reflektif Terhadap Frasa Syaghafaha Hubban dalam Surah Yusuf

Syaghaf is an Arabic term that describes love or a very strong inclination toward something. In Surah Yusuf verse 30, the phrase syaghafaha hubban is used to depict the obsessive love of the wife of Al-Aziz for Prophet Yusuf, whose intensity could obscure rationality. Although this concept is frequently mentioned in Qur’anic exegesis, studies linking its semantic analysis with a reflection on Qur’anic ethics remain rare. A deep understanding of this phrase is essential to explore the relationship between the language of revelation, the dynamics of extreme emotions, and moral restraint in modern life. This study aims to analyze the semantic meaning of syaghafaha hubban through a reflective-ethical semantic approach, which combines syntagmatic and paradigmatic analysis with moral examination based on Qur’anic values. Data were collected through a literature review of classical and modern tafsir, as well as Qur’anic linguistic studies to trace semantic shifts in contemporary contexts. The findings indicate that syaghafaha hubban represents a form of obsessive love that can weaken self-control and drive behavior contrary to the principles of tauhid. This study enriches Qur’anic semantic scholarship by integrating linguistic analysis with ethical reflection, while filling a research gap that connects the language of revelation with modern emotional health issues. It recommends strengthening spiritual practices, internalizing tauhid values, and implementing Qur’an-based emotional education as preventive measures in managing extreme emotions, so that the moral message of Surah Yusuf verse 30 can be applied contextually in the present era.
Abstrak: Syaghaf merupakan istilah bahasa Arab yang menggambarkan cinta atau kecenderungan yang sangat kuat terhadap sesuatu. Dalam QS. Yusuf ayat 30, frasa syaghafaha hubban digunakan untuk melukiskan perasaan cinta obsesif istri Al-Aziz terhadap Nabi Yusuf, yang intensitasnya mampu mengaburkan rasionalitas. Meskipun konsep ini sering disebut dalam tafsir, kajian yang mengaitkan analisis semantik frasa tersebut dengan refleksi etika Qur’ani masih jarang dilakukan. Padahal, pemahaman mendalam terhadapnya penting untuk mengkaji relasi antara bahasa wahyu, dinamika emosi ekstrem, dan kendali moral dalam kehidupan modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis makna semantik syaghafaha hubban dengan pendekatan semantik reflektif-etika, yakni perpaduan analisis sintagmatik dan paradigmatik dengan telaah moral berdasarkan nilai-nilai Qur’ani. Data dihimpun melalui studi pustaka terhadap tafsir klasik dan modern, serta kajian linguistik Al-Qur’an untuk menelusuri pergeseran makna dalam konteks kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa syaghafaha hubban merepresentasikan bentuk cinta obsesif yang dapat melemahkan pengendalian diri dan mendorong perilaku yang bertentangan dengan prinsip tauhid. Temuan ini memperkaya studi semantik Al-Qur’an dengan mengintegrasikan analisis linguistik dan refleksi etis, sekaligus mengisi celah kajian yang menghubungkan bahasa wahyu dengan kesehatan emosional modern. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan praktik spiritual, internalisasi nilai tauhid, dan pendidikan emosional berbasis Qur’ani sebagai langkah preventif dalam mengelola emosi ekstrem, sehingga pesan moral QS. Yusuf ayat 30 dapat diterapkan secara kontekstual di era kini.
