An-Nahdah Al-'Arabiyah: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Arab is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, Indonesia, under the academic management of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature. The journal provides an academic forum for original research on Arabic language, literature, textual traditions, and their intellectual and cultural contexts. We welcome rigorous scholarship that connects the study of Arabic across periods, regions, methods, and research communities.
The journal aims to publish methodologically sound, original, and ethically conducted research that develops knowledge in Arabic linguistics and literary studies; encourages critical engagement with Arabic texts, discourses, and linguistic practices; and makes relevant findings accessible to an international scholarly audience. Contributions should articulate their research questions, place their argument in appropriate scholarship, and explain their specific scholarly contribution.
We consider empirical, textual, historical, theoretical, and interdisciplinary submissions when the research question is clearly relevant to Arabic language or literature. General religious, political, or educational essays without a demonstrable Arabic linguistic, literary, philological, or textual focus are outside the scope. Submission does not guarantee review or publication. Every manuscript is assessed for fit, scholarly integrity, argument, evidence, methodology, and relevance to readers beyond its immediate local setting.
The full text may be written in Arabic or English. Every published item must have accurate English title and abstract metadata where an abstract is appropriate; all author names, institutional affiliations, and cited bibliographic references must be presented in Roman script. An Arabic title or abstract may also be supplied. The journal supports the visibility of Arabic scholarship while meeting the bibliographic standards expected by international indexing services.
An-Nahdah Al-'Arabiyah publishes scholarly contributions in Arabic language, linguistics, literature, literary history, philology, translation, and related areas consistent with the journal's stated aims and scope.
The journal considers original research articles, scholarly review articles, and brief communications that provide a substantive contribution to the field. All submissions must demonstrate academic originality, methodological rigour, appropriate engagement with relevant literature, and compliance with the journal's editorial policies.
An-Nahdah Al-'Arabiyah publishes two issues annually, in February and August. Manuscripts may be submitted throughout the year. Publication in a particular issue depends on successful editorial assessment, peer review, revision, and production.
An-Nahdah Al-'Arabiyah is published under the institutional responsibility of Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, Indonesia, through the Faculty of Adab and Humanities and the Department of Arabic Language and Literature.
The editorial team manages manuscript assessment, peer review, and publication decisions according to the journal's publicly stated policies. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and remain independent of inappropriate institutional, financial, or personal influence.
