Peer Review Process

MathiEu: Journal of Mathematics Education and Learning uses a double-blind review policy, in which the identity of both author(s)' and the reviewer(s)' is kept hidden until the submitted article is published.

Each submitted article is reviewed by two or three reviewers on the following basis:

  1. The originality of its contribution to the field of scholarly publishing;
  2. The soundness of its theory and methodology gave the topic;
  3. The coherence of its analysis;
  4. Its ability to communicate to readers (grammar and style); and
  5. The writing format matched the journal's submission guide.

The normal turn-around time for screening and evaluating manuscripts is 2 - 4 weeks from the date of submission. The review process may take 2–4 months. Articles accepted with minor or major revisions should be revised as the reviewers’ comments and suggestions. The reviewers will then submit their reports on the manuscripts along with their recommendation of one of the following actions to the editor:

  1. Accept Submission;
  2. Revisions Required;
  3. Resubmit for Review;
  4. Resubmit Elsewhere;
  5. Decline Submission.

The decision acceptance for publication, amendment, or rejection will be made by Editors according to reviewers' comments, or recommendations. In certain cases, if needed, the editor may send the manuscript to another reviewer for review (Second Round), before making a decision. Publication of accepted manuscripts including the sequence of published manuscripts will be made by the Editor in Chief by considering the sequence of accepted dates and geographical distribution of authors as well as thematic issues.

Editing the Metadata

Providing accurate metadata submitted by the author is a part of the author's responsibility. We encourage authors to verify the metadata upon submitting manuscript to MathiEu: Journal of Mathematics Education and Learning. Author(s) may also contact the assigned editor to revise and edit the metadata if submission has been made.

 Editing metadata of published manuscript requires editor role access. Author may contact the assign editor to perform the editing. What author should know is that changing the metadata also affected the galley. Completed galleys needed to be re-layout, re-upload, and also to be synced with the OJS metadata. Changing these metadata requires additional work outside of the normal editorial tasks. Therefore, the author will be charged USD25 upon request of editing the submission metadata. However, the editor will decide whether the editing is necessary and workable (does not affect the volume pagination, etc).
