Screening Plagiarism Policy

Al-Faraidhi: Indonesian Journal of Inheritance and Islamic Law strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity to ensure that all published articles are original and have never been published previously.

1. Plagiarism Check Tool All manuscripts submitted to Al-Faraidhi will be screened for plagiarism and similarity using Turnitin software before the editorial and peer-review process begins.

2. Similarity Index Threshold The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%. To ensure a fair assessment, the similarity checker filters will be set to exclude the following elements:

  • Bibliography / References

  • Direct Quotes (Quoted text enclosed in quotation marks)

  • Small word matches (matches of less than 5 words)

3. Editorial Actions Based on Similarity Report Based on the similarity report generated, the Editorial Board will take the following actions:

  • Similarity Index ≤ 20%: The manuscript is acceptable and will proceed to the substantive review process by peer reviewers.

  • Similarity Index 21% - 40%: The manuscript will be returned to the author(s) for revision and paraphrasing. The author(s) must reduce the similarity and resubmit the revised version.

  • Similarity Index > 40%: The manuscript will be immediately rejected without further review.

4. Post-Publication Plagiarism If plagiarism or self-plagiarism is discovered after an article has been published, the Editorial Board reserves the right to retract the article, publish a formal retraction notice, and restrict the author(s) from submitting future manuscripts to this journal.
