Peer Review Process

Al-Faraidhi: Indonesian Journal of Inheritance and Islamic Law implements a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic significance of every published article. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity in the fields of Inheritance Law and Islamic Law.

 

1.   Review System

This journal uses a Double-Blind Peer Review system. Under this system, the identity of the authors is concealed from the reviewers, and conversely, the identity of the reviewers is concealed from the authors. This is designed to prevent bias and ensure the objective evaluation of the scientific quality of the manuscript.  

2.   Stages of the Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to our Open Journal Systems (OJS) will go through the following stages:

  1. Initial Screening by Editor: The submitted manuscript will be evaluated by the Editorial Team to ensure it fits the journal's focus and scope and complies with the author guidelines. The manuscript is also checked using anti-plagiarism software (Turnitin/iThenticate). Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% will be rejected or returned to the author.
  2. Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements will be forwarded to at least 2 (two) expert reviewers in the fields of Islamic Law and
  3. Evaluation Process by Reviewers: Reviewers will evaluate the manuscript based on:
    • Originality of ideas and novelty of the
    • Clarity of structure, methodology used, and validity of
    • Depth of analysis and relevance of up-to-date
    • Quality of presentation and use of proper academic
  1. Reviewer Recommendations: Reviewers will provide one of the following recommendations for the manuscript:
    • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted without
    • Revisions Required: The manuscript requires minor revisions from the
    • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires major revisions and will be re-
    • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected as it does not meet the journal's
  2. Final Decision: The final decision regarding the acceptance of a manuscript is determined by the Editor in Chief based on the input from the The editorial decision is final and binding.

 

3.   Processing Time

The substantive review process generally takes 4 to 8 weeks from the time the manuscript is sent to the reviewers. The editing and publication process depends on the author's response time in revising the manuscript. Authors can monitor the status of their manuscript transparently and periodically through our Open Journal Systems (OJS).

4.   Reviewer Ethics Guidelines

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript being reviewed. Reviewers are not permitted to use unpublished data from the manuscript for personal gain. If there is a conflict of interest, the reviewer must report it to the editor and recuse themselves from the review process of the manuscript.
