Plagiarism Policy

Dirasat al-Islamiyat: International Journal for Islamic Studies maintains a strict policy against plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works and free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and improper citation practices.

Every submitted manuscript will undergo plagiarism screening using reliable plagiarism detection software before entering the peer review process. Manuscripts found to contain significant similarities with previously published works, without proper citation or acknowledgement, will be rejected immediately.

Forms of Plagiarism

  • Copying text, ideas, images, or data from other sources without proper attribution.
  • Self-plagiarism, including duplicate publication or reuse of substantial parts of previously published work without appropriate citation.
  • Paraphrasing another author’s work without adequate acknowledgement.
  • Submitting manuscripts generated or modified dishonestly to misrepresent originality.

Similarity Check

The editorial team evaluates the similarity index of each manuscript carefully. A manuscript may be returned to the author for revision or rejected if the level of similarity is considered unacceptable or indicates potential plagiarism.

Actions Against Plagiarism

  • Immediate rejection of plagiarized manuscripts during the review or editorial process.
  • Retraction of published articles if plagiarism is identified after publication.
  • Notification to the author’s affiliated institution if serious ethical violations occur.
  • Temporary or permanent restriction on future submissions from authors involved in academic misconduct.

The journal encourages authors to ensure the originality of their manuscripts and to properly cite all sources used in their research and writing.
