Author Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to Dirasat al-Islamiyat: International Journal for Islamic Studies are required to follow the journal guidelines to ensure consistency, academic quality, and an efficient review process.

General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.
  • Articles should be written in clear academic English or Arabic with proper grammar and structure.
  • The manuscript must align with the scope and focus of the journal.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all references, quotations, and data.

Manuscript Structure

Submitted manuscripts should generally contain the following sections:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and relevant to the study.
  • Abstract: Approximately 150–250 words summarizing the objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: 3–5 keywords representing the main topics of the article.
  • Introduction: Background, research problem, objectives, and significance of the study.
  • Methodology: Research methods, data collection, and analysis procedures.
  • Results and Discussion: Presentation and interpretation of research findings.
  • Conclusion: Summary of findings and recommendations.
  • References: Complete list of cited works following the required citation style.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Use Times New Roman, 12 pt font size, and 1.5 line spacing.
  • Use A4 paper size with standard margins.
  • All tables, figures, and charts must be clearly labeled and properly cited.

Citation and References

  • Authors are encouraged to use recent and relevant scholarly references.
  • References should primarily come from academic journals, books, and reputable scholarly sources.
  • The journal recommends the use of reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero.
  • Citation and bibliography style should follow the journal’s specified format.

Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system.
  • Authors should ensure that all metadata and author information are entered correctly during submission.
  • Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer and editor comments.

Copyright and Ethics

Authors must comply with the journal’s publication ethics, plagiarism policy, and copyright regulations. Any ethical misconduct identified during or after the review process may result in rejection or retraction of the article.
