Publication Ethics

Dirasat al-Islamiyat: International Journal for Islamic Studies is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal follows ethical guidelines based on internationally recognized standards to ensure the integrity, transparency, and quality of scholarly publishing.

Duties of Authors

  • Authors must present original research and ensure that the manuscript has not been published or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
  • Authors are responsible for providing accurate data, proper citations, and acknowledgement of all sources used in the research.
  • Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
  • All listed authors should have made significant contributions to the research and approved the final version of the manuscript.
  • Authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the research results or interpretation.

Duties of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts solely based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and should not disclose information to unauthorized parties.
  • Editors must ensure a fair and unbiased peer review process.
  • Editors should take appropriate action when ethical complaints or misconduct allegations are identified.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers should provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts.
  • Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the review process and should not use unpublished materials for personal advantage.
  • Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors.
  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline review assignments when necessary.

Ethical Oversight

The journal reserves the right to reject, retract, or correct articles found to violate ethical standards, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices.
