Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to Fitrah: International Islamic Education Journal will undergo a rigorous selection and assessment process by the Editorial Board to ensure compliance with the journal's writing guidelines, focus, and scope, and to guarantee high academic quality. The review process follows a double-blind review system, where neither the authors nor the reviewers are aware of each other’s identities.
-
Pre-Review Stage
At the initial stage, submitted manuscripts will undergo a desk review by the Editorial Board. The purpose is to ensure the manuscript aligns with the journal's focus and scope, adheres to the writing guidelines, and demonstrates academic rigor. If the manuscript does not meet these criteria, authors will be given an opportunity to revise according to the provided feedback. However, manuscripts may also be directly rejected at this stage if they fall significantly short of the standards. -
Peer Review Stage
Manuscripts that pass the desk review stage will be assigned to at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. The peer review process will take approximately 2–3 weeks. Manuscripts that do not pass the desk review stage will not proceed further in the process. -
Reviewer’s Decision
Reviewers will provide one of the following recommendations:- Accepted: The manuscript is suitable for publication without revisions.
- Accepted with Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor changes to address reviewers' feedback.
- Accepted with Major Revisions: The manuscript requires significant revisions, such as adjustments in data analysis, theoretical framework, or overall structure.
- Rejected: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards for publication.
The Editorial Board will consider reviewers' recommendations and make the final decision regarding the manuscript's status.
-
Revision Stage
For manuscripts requiring revisions, authors will receive a review summary form outlining the necessary changes.- For major revisions, authors are given 3 weeks to submit the revised manuscript.
- For minor revisions, authors are allotted 1 week.
Failure to submit revisions within the stipulated time may result in rejection.
-
Final Decision Stage
Revised manuscripts will be re-evaluated by the Editorial Board to ensure all reviewers' comments have been adequately addressed. Manuscripts that fail to meet revision requirements may still be rejected at this stage. -
Proofreading Stage
Accepted manuscripts will undergo a thorough proofreading process to ensure linguistic quality and adherence to journal standards. -
Publication Confirmation
Once proofreading is complete, the final layout of the manuscript will be sent to the author for approval. Authors may make minor corrections, such as typographical or formatting errors. Upon receiving confirmation from the author, the Editorial Secretary will proceed with the manuscript's online and print publication.
