About the Journal
Indonesian Journal of Islamic History and Culture (ISSN 2722-8940; e-ISSN 2722-8932) is a peer-reviewed journal which is published by the Department of Islamic History and Culture in cooperation with the Center for Islamic History and Culture in Aceh and Malay World Studies (PUSAKA) of Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia. Indonesian Journal of Islamic History and Culture is committed to the publication of a wide range of scholarship in Islamic history and culture, such as the history of science and technology in Islam, Islamic dynasties, Islamic figures, Islamic philology, Islamic archeology, and Islamic arts. In Particular, this journal’s interest is in regional Islamic studies that reflect the diversity of Islamic historical and cultural heritage.
The journal covers applied research and review articles, both in the format of full-length articles and research notes. Applied research studies are expected to examine relationships among variables relevant to Islamic History and Culture. High-quality review articles that address the latest advances and develop theoretical knowledge or thinking about key aspects of Islamic History and Culture are accepted. Research notes are short articles that report advances in methodology, exploratory research findings, or extensions/discussions of prior research. Indonesian Journal of Islamic History and Culture will also welcome commentary in response to published articles.
All papers are subject to a double-blind peer-review process based on an initial screening by the editor criteria for evaluation include a significant contribution to the field, conceptual quality, appropriate methodology, and clarity of exposition.
