Author Guidelines

Submission Frequency and Content

  • IJES : Indonesian Journal of Environmental Sustainability is published biannually in June and December. A minimum of 7 selected articles are featured in each issue.
  • Submitted articles should be research-based, original, and previously unpublished. Articles must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Content should focus primarily on Environmental Science and technology related subjects with sustainability development. The scope encompasses Environmental Analyses and Monitoring, Natural Resources Management, Sanitation and Environmental Engineering, Biology Conservation and Sustainable Agriculture Especially Leuser Ecosystem, and Renewable Energy. Further details can be found in the Focus and Scope section.
  • Translations of manuscripts are not accepted.

Article Structure and Formatting

  • The manuscript should adhere to the provided journal style and template.
  • Articles should review current Environmental Science and technology themes critically, show analytical precision, utilize recent references, and be free from plagiarism.
  • Systematic structure:
    • Title
    • Author's name (without academic degree), affiliation, and email
    • Abstract in English and Bahasa (max. 200 words)
    • Keywords (3-5 words)
    • Introduction
    • Methods
    • Discussion
    • Subsections (as required)
    • Conclusions
    • References/Bibliography

Technical Guidelines

  • Prepare manuscripts on A4 paper (Width: 8.3, Height: 11.7) presenting original research.
  • Manuscripts under go a rigorous review process.
  • Submit electronically through the OJS portal of IJES : Indonesian Journal of Environmental Sustainability.
  • Acceptable format: Microsoft Word. Ensure compatibility with standard Postscript printers. Graphics should be clear in black and white.
  • Maximum article length: 20 pages (inclusive of all elements).
  • Adopt a one-column format using a 12-point Times New Roman font. Maintain 3 centimetres margins.
  • For Arabic Transliteration or Romanization, adhere to the specified standards.
  • Citations should be managed with Mendeley, formatted to the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (complete note).

Abstract Requirements

  • Offer a concise summary of the article.
  • Begin with the study's broad context, specific background, followed by the purpose, methods, key findings, and conclusions.
  • Aim for clarity to reach a diverse readership.
  • Restrict to a single paragraph under 200 words.
  • Avoid citations and uncommon abbreviations.

Submission Process

  • Remove any identification traces like names and emails in the manuscript due to the blind review policy.
  • Ensure submissions include the article file and academic biographical data.
