Reviewer Guidelines

Introduction: Thank you for agreeing to review Lingkar: Journal of Environmental Engineering. As a peer reviewer, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of the research we publish. Please follow the guidelines below for your review process within the OJS3 platform.

1. Accessing Manuscripts:

  • After accepting the invitation to review, log in to OJS3.
  • Navigate to 'My Assigned' to find the article for your review.
  • Click on the article title to access the entire manuscript and associated files.

2. Confidentiality:

  • All manuscripts sent for review are confidential.
  • Avoid discussing the manuscript or its content with anyone not directly involved in the review process.
  • Do not use knowledge of the work before its publication for personal or professional advantages.

3. Review Focus & Scope:

  • Ensure the manuscript fits within the Environmental Engineering and Science scope, covering areas like environmental management, water and waste management, pollution control, sustainability, etc.
  • Assess its relevance, originality, and significance to the field.

4. Content Review:

  • Check the manuscript's structure (title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, bibliography).
  • Ensure clarity, coherence, and logical flow in the presentation.
  • Confirm the use of appropriate methodology and its accurate description.
  • Evaluate the validity of the results and the soundness of conclusions drawn from them.
  • Check for proper citation and ensure no evidence of plagiarism.

5. Provide Constructive Feedback:

  • Offer general comments and suggestions (related to the overall work) and specific (related to particular parts or lines).
  • Criticism should be constructive, helping authors understand weaknesses and improve the manuscript.
  • Avoid personal or disparaging remarks.

6. Making a Recommendation: Based on your assessment, recommend one of the following actions:

  • Accept as is
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Re-submit with major revisions
  • Reject

Justify your recommendation to assist the editor in the decision-making process.

7. Submitting Your Review:

  • In OJS3, navigate to the review page of the designated manuscript.
  • Upload your review file (if you have written notes separately).
  • Fill in the evaluation form provided by the journal.
  • Submit your review within the platform.

8. Deadlines: Please adhere to the review timeline provided when you accepted the invitation. If you anticipate a delay, inform the editorial office.

9. Post-Review: Once the review is submitted, the editorial team might contact you for further clarifications or discussions. Stay engaged until the review process for the particular manuscript is complete.

10. Conflict of Interest: If, at any point, you identify a potential conflict of interest related to the manuscript, the authors, or the research funding sources, inform the editorial office immediately.
