This study examines the impact of the School Literacy Movement (Gerakan Literasi Sekolah/GLS) on the reading interest and capacity of students at SMPN 10 Banda Aceh. The primary problem addressed is the persistent challenge of low reading engagement among junior high school students despite the national implementation of literacy programs. The objective of this research is to evaluate how the structured implementation of GLS including the 15-minute daily reading habit and the enrichment of library resources influences students' reading comprehension and frequency. Using a quantitative descriptive method, data were collected through questionnaires and reading tests administered to a representative sample of students. The findings indicate a significant positive correlation between the consistent execution of the GLS program and the improvement of students' reading skills. Specifically, students showed higher levels of analytical thinking and a broader vocabulary following the systematic integration of literacy activities into the school curriculum. In conclusion, the School Literacy Movement serves as a vital instrument in fostering a sustainable reading culture, though it requires continuous innovation in reading materials and teacher supervision to maintain its long-term effectiveness at SMPN 10 Banda Aceh.Published
