This study aims to analyze the relevance of Maqāṣid al-Syarī‘ah specifically hifz al-nafs to health management and budgeting, employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach via Google Scholar. The study examines various research designs including conceptual, normative, qualitative, quantitative, modeling, and literature review studies to identify contributions and the limitations of available evidence. The results indicate that hifz al-nafs possesses a robust normative foundation regarding the protection of life, health policy, and public resource management. However, variations exist across studies regarding research design, data types, units of analysis, and study contexts. Quantitative literature provides more measurable evidence concerning budget management, whereas conceptual, qualitative, and modeling studies contribute to the development of theoretical foundations, contextual understanding, and evaluation frameworks. The study also identifies a lack of empirical evidence specifically linking health budget allocation to the achievement of hifz al-nafs through measurable health indicators. Consequently, there is a need to develop operational indicators for hifz al-nafs and to empirically test the relationships between budget allocation, healthcare service performance, and health outcomes. This research contributes to the construction of an analytical framework that integrates the Maqāṣid al-Syarī‘ah perspective with health budgeting evaluation.
