Policy for Plagirism
Plagiarism Policy
AHKAMUL USRAH: Journal of Family Law and Islamic Judiciary is committed to upholding academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all published work. To maintain high standards of scholarly publishing, the journal follows strict policies for detecting and handling plagiarism.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct Plagiarism: Reproducing text from another source without proper citation.
- Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one’s own previously published content without acknowledgment.
- Paraphrasing Plagiarism: Rephrasing ideas from another work without giving due credit.
- Mosaic Plagiarism: Mixing copied phrases from various sources without proper citation.
2. Plagiarism Detection
AHKAMUL USRAH uses plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) to screen submitted manuscripts before the peer review process. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal’s acceptable limit (typically less than 20% of unquoted text) will be flagged for further investigation.
3. Handling Cases of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected, the following steps will be taken:
- Minor Plagiarism: For minor instances (e.g., a few sentences copied without citation), authors will be contacted and asked to revise the manuscript with proper citations.
- Major Plagiarism: For significant instances of plagiarism (e.g., extensive copied content without citation or entire sections reproduced), the manuscript will be rejected immediately. Authors may also be barred from submitting future manuscripts to the journal.
4. Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is identified in a published article, AHKAMUL USRAH will investigate the case. Depending on the severity, the journal may issue a correction or retract the paper. Notices of retraction or correction will be published in the journal and linked to the original article.
5. Authors’ Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is original and properly referenced. By submitting to AHKAMUL USRAH, authors agree that their work is free from plagiarism and understand that any violations of this policy may result in sanctions.
AHKAMUL USRAH is committed to promoting academic honesty and integrity in all published research, and will take necessary actions to maintain these standards.
