These writing guidelines are made for the uniformity of writing formats and to make it easier for writers in the process of publishing manuscripts in the Educator Development Journal. Authors may use Indonesian or English. Manuscripts in Indonesian must comply with the applicable EYD, and if they are in English, they must meet English grammar standards
Manuscripts are written using Book Antiqua 12 pt font, 1.5 spacing on A4 paper format (210 mm x 297 mm) with 3 cm top and bottom margins, 3.5 cm left and right margins. The form of the script is 1 column. The minimum length of the manuscript is 8 pages and a maximum of 15 pages. Spacing between paragraphs 1.5 spaces. The title of the manuscript must reflect the essence of the contents of the article. The title should evoke the problem under study. The title is effective, specific, effective and a maximum of 15 words. The full author's name is written below the title without mentioning the title. Underneath include the name of the institution and full address where the author works along with the email address of one of the authors for correspondence. If the authors are more than one person and work at the same institution, the inclusion of one address is deemed sufficient to represent the addresses of other authors.
Abstracts are written in English and Indonesian, each accompanied by keywords. Keywords can be single words or compound words (consisting of more than one word). Writing keywords between three to five (3-5) words and can follow the following classification: theoretical method, experimental method, phenomenon, research object
The manuscript consists of Introduction, Research Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, and Bibliography. Subtitles are written in capital letters and numbered with Arabic numerals. Acknowledgments (if any), Attachments (if any) are written sequentially after the Conclusion and are not numbered at the beginning of the word.
Introduction. The introduction must include the following: background, problem formulation, objectives, theory, hypotheses (if any), and expectations for the results and benefits of the research. The introduction contains adequate research objectives and background, avoiding detailed literature or a summary of results. References must be cited with Last Name, (Year) or can be presented using (Last Name, et al. Year). Research methods. The research method used must be scientifically written, namely rational, empirical and systematic. The time and place of the research must be clearly stated, along with the data, tools and materials used in the research. The results and discussion contain the results of the analysis of phenomena in the research areas that are relevant to the research theme. Research results should be compared with relevant research theories and findings.
Conclusions can be in the form of specific conclusions and general conclusions. Specific conclusions are the results of data analysis or the results of testing hypotheses about the phenomenon under study. The general conclusion is the result
References use the endnote format. Symbols are written clearly and consistently. Foreign terms are written in italics. Abbreviations must be written in full the first time they are mentioned, after which short words can be written. Tables are written in Book Antiqua with size 10 pt and given 1 space below the table title. Table titles are written in 12 pt letters, placed above the table. Images are placed immediately after they are mentioned in the script. Images are placed at the top or bottom of each page and cannot be attached in sentences. Figures are numbered using Arabic numerals. Image captions are written using Book Antiqua 12 pt, and placed at the bottom of the image. Images that have been published by other authors must be credited in the description.
Literature citations in the manuscript are written alphabetically and sorted in the order of the citations.
The bibliography is written according to the order of citations in the manuscript. The number of reference sources in one article is at least ten sources, with 80% being the main reference sources and 80% coming from the last 5 years. The bibliography format used in the BIOTIK Journal refers to the IEEE model developed by Mendeley, as in the following example: An example of citing a library is as follows:
