Efforts to Improve Elementary School Students' Learning Outcomes in Science Learning Through the Problem Based Learning Model

The purpose of this study was to improve students' learning outcomes in theme 2 subtheme 1 through the application of the Problem Basic Learning learning model. This study is a classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in 2 action cycles. The subjects of this study were 16 students in grade IV. The collection of learning outcome data in this study was carried out using an essay test method. Furthermore, the data was analyzed using descriptive-qualitative and descriptive-quantitative techniques. The research data showed that in cycle I the percentage of learning outcomes of Islamic religious education and character education in theme 2 subtheme 1 reached 68.75% in the moderate category and in cycle II it reached 87.5% in the high category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Basic Learning learning model can improve students' learning outcomes in theme 2 subtheme 1.
