Although Aceh is recognized as the only province in Indonesia that officially implements Islamic Sharia, the region's socio-economic conditions reveal relatively high poverty rates and evident economic inequality. This study aims to identify the causes behind the discrepancy between Islamic economic principles—such as justice, the prohibition of usury (riba), and wealth distribution—and the economic activities and public policies applied in Aceh. The research adopts a qualitative approach using descriptive-analytical methods, based on secondary data and academic literature. The findings indicate that the implementation of Islamic economics in Aceh remains largely symbolic and has yet to address deeper structural aspects. Several factors contribute to this ambiguity, including limited understanding of Islamic economic literacy, lack of coordination between religious scholars (ulama) and the government, and ineffective zakat management. This article suggests the need for institutional reform, improved economic literacy, and relevant Islamic economic innovations as steps toward a more authentic and empowering implementation of Islamic economics in society
T Lembong Misbah Copyright (c) 2025 JAROW: Journal of Ar-Raniry on Social Work 2025-06-12 2025-06-12 3 1 51 60 10.22373/jarow.v3i1.7858 Analisis Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Anak Bekerja Di Gampong Tengah Kecamatan Kuala Batee Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya https://journal.ar-raniry.ac.id/jarow/article/view/7675
Parents are the primary and first educators for their children, because it is from them that children first receive education. Many parents use their children as a source of fulfillment for both the children themselves and their families. Some children from the middle village are still in school and some are no longer in school. They work after school hours, and some children work during school hours. This study aims to determine the factors that influence children to work in Gampong Tengah, Kuala Batee District, Southwest Aceh Regency, and to find out what causes parents to allow their children to work in Gampong Tengah, Kuala Batee District, Southwest Aceh Regency. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, observations and documentation. The results of the study showed that children from the middle village who work are generally known by their parents and children who work have a family background with a fairly low economy. This is indicated by the low education of their parents, most of whom are elementary school graduates and some have not attended school at all. And the work of the parents is mostly only as farm laborers. with income that is barely enough for daily needs. The relatively low economic conditions of the family also cause parents to allow their children to work while going to school. It is undeniable that there are reasons for children to work solely because they want to help the family economy, to meet their own needs because the children of their parents do not get their rights in meeting their daily needs due to the work and income of their parents which are barely enough, another reason children work is because they want to pay for school needs
Yuliana Copyright (c) 2025 JAROW: Journal of Ar-Raniry on Social Work 2025-06-12 2025-06-12 3 1 61 78 10.22373/jarow.v3i1.7675 Problematika Anak Putus Sekolah Di Gampong Kandang Kecamatan Sakti Kabupaten Pidie https://journal.ar-raniry.ac.id/jarow/article/view/7676
The case of children dropping out of school is one of the factors that is very seriously handled for the future of the nation. The phenomenon of children dropping out of high school in Gampong Kandang certainly has its own impact, where the child has the potential to be hampered in the level of independence, and there is no increase in competitiveness for children when they are in the community. This study aims to determine what factors cause children to drop out of school and to determine what socio-economic characteristics cause children to drop out of school in Gampong Kandang, Sakti District, Pidie Regency. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the study showed that the cause of children dropping out of school in Gampong Kandang is an internal factor (interest and desire), this factor occurs in the child concerned himself which is caused by the absence of intention or desire to learn. Meanwhile, internal factors are caused by the economic limitations of parents, because the parents' income is insufficient or only enough for daily needs, so that parents are unable to facilitate children to go to school, and the social environment due to free association, the influence of peers. Lack of parental supervision is often the reason why children are lazy to study and prefer the freedom to do whatever they want with their friends.
Cut Faizatul Amira Copyright (c) 2025 JAROW: Journal of Ar-Raniry on Social Work 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 3 1 79 92 10.22373/jarow.v3i1.7676 Stunting Di Gampong Lae Motong Kecamatan Penanggalan Kota Subulussalam https://journal.ar-raniry.ac.id/jarow/article/view/7712
Stunting, or impaired growth and development in children, has become a global issue, including in Indonesia. This is concerning because children are the foundation of the future generation, and poor child development can negatively affect the nation's future. In Aceh, the prevalence of stunting remains high compared to other provinces, affecting both urban and rural areas. In the village (Gampong) of Lae Motong, for example, 12 out of 135 children under five years old (approximately 9%) are stunted. This study aims to explore the reasons behind the high rate of stunting in Gampong Lae Motong and to examine the role of the local government in addressing this issue. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal several causes of stunting in the village, including: a) lack of nutritious food intake, b) infectious diseases, c) parenting patterns, d) poor sanitation and limited access to clean water, e) economic challenges, and f) low educational levels. The role of the village government has so far been limited to providing supplementary food and offering community education, which the researcher considers insufficient. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the government and relevant stakeholders work together to improve the community’s economy, raise awareness about child nutrition, and develop health-related infrastructure, particularly access to clean water.
Rina Nurhidayati Copyright (c) 2025 JAROW: Journal of Ar-Raniry on Social Work 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 3 1 93 100 10.22373/jarow.v3i1.7712 Analisis Pelaksanaan Program Adhyaksa Peduli Stunting Di Gampong Peuniti Kecamatan Baitturahman Kota Banda Aceh https://journal.ar-raniry.ac.id/jarow/article/view/7736
This study analyzes the implementation of the Adhyaksa Peduli Stunting Program in Gampong Peuniti, Baitturahman Sub-district, Banda Aceh City. The program aims to reduce stunting rates through supplementary feeding, health monitoring, and nutrition education for families with stunted children. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the program was implemented in several stages, including data validation, coordination meetings, target determination, and program execution involving counseling, education, growth monitoring, and aid distribution. Over six months, the program significantly improved children's weight and reduced the number of stunted children from 45 to 13. The success of the program was influenced by cross-sector collaboration, service accessibility, and community involvement. These results are expected to provide valuable insights for future stunting prevention efforts.
Aulia Akbar Copyright (c) 2025 JAROW: Journal of Ar-Raniry on Social Work 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 3 1 101 110 10.22373/jarow.v3i1.7736 Peran Pekerja Sosial Pada Proses Diversi Anak Berhadapan Dengan Hukum https://journal.ar-raniry.ac.id/jarow/article/view/7763
The increasing number of cases of Children in Conflict with the Law (ABH) in data obtained from the UPTD Jroh Naguna Children's Social Institution shows the need for synergy between various parties, including the government, law enforcement agencies, social workers, educational institutions, and the community.
