Democratica: Journal of Sociopolitical Affairs

Democratica: Journal of Sociopolitical Affairs with registered numbers ISSN XXXX-XXXX (print) and XXXX-XXXX (online) is an open-access and peer-reviewed academic journal. The main objective of this journal is to disseminate original and up-to-date scholarly works from researchers and practitioners addressing various issues in the fields of social and political sciences.

JSPA is published twice a year (June and December) by the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh, Indonesia.

The scope of JSPA includes, but is not limited to: democracy and governance, political institutions and bureaucracy, public policy and innovation, civil society and social movements, identity politics and multiculturalism, media, communication, and digital politics, peace and conflict studies, international relations and global affairs, and justice and human rights.

Since 2025, all manuscripts have been published in English. Submissions are accepted throughout the year. Before submitting, authors are advised to ensure that their manuscripts align with JSPA’s focus and scope, are written in academic English, and follow the author guidelines and manuscript template available on the journal’s website.
