PERAN AYAH DALAM PENGASUHAN ANAK: STUDI KASUS DI DUSUN BLANG RAME, KABUPATEN ACEH JAYA

Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of fathers in early childhood parenting and the factors that influence this role in Dusun Blang Rame, Aceh Jaya Regency. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving five fathers as the primary informants. The findings reveal that the role of fathers in parenting children aged 5-6 years can be categorized into three main dimensions: Paternal Engagement, which includes direct involvement of fathers through interactions such as helping children dress and communicate; Accessibility, referring to the presence of fathers and their direct engagement with their children; and Responsibility, which relates to fathers' awareness in fulfilling their children's needs, particularly in the economic aspect. Factors influencing the father's role in parenting include a lack of understanding of early childhood parenting, cultural constraints that limit fatherly participation, prevailing myths, and the fathers' psychological well-being.
