Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam, purifying the heart and developing a truly righteous person. It has comprehensive operational provisions covering the types of assets subject to zakat. In the context of zakat, it is explained that zakat is one component that upholds the values of Maqasid Syariah (Shariah Objectives) with the principle of Hifdzul Mal (Guarding Wealth). Therefore, the researcher's objective in this study is to examine the impact and challenges of the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) in the distribution of zakat. First, what are the challenges faced by the National Zakat Agency in the distribution of zakat? Second, what is the social impact/mustahik of zakat on the zakat mechanism implemented by BAZNAS. This research uses a literature review method with a normative approach, relying on secondary data obtained from various legal literature sources and emphasizing the parts of the law that should be applicable and implemented. Therefore, the researcher wants to confirm that BAZNAS does face challenges in managing zakat, which impacts the lives of communities, especially in rural and remote areas.
