The intricate interplay between low-carbon technology and society has emerged as a pivotal focal point in the pursuit of a more environmentally balanced and resilient future. This symbiotic relationship between technological innovation and societal dynamics necessitates a comprehensive understanding of how these elements intersect, influence, and shape each other.</p> <p><strong><em> Journal of Low Carbon Technology and Society (JLCTS)</em></strong> publishes original research that encourages the adoption of low-carbon technologies, ranging from renewable energy sources and energy-efficient systems to electric mobility and green infrastructure and their intersection with society. As societies endeavor to reduce carbon emissions, mitigate environmental impact, and enhance resource efficiency, the socio-economic, cultural, and policy dimensions of this transformation cannot be understated. Societal norms, consumer behavior, policy frameworks, and economic structures all play instrumental roles in the successful integration of low-carbon technologies into the mainstream.</p> <p>This journal aims to delve into the intricate relationship between low-carbon technology and society, elucidating the multidimensional aspects that characterize their interaction. Penelitian Keanekaragaman Spesies Ikan di Perairan Laguna Kecamatan Leupung Kabupaten Aceh Besar bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi Spesies Ikan, Menganalisis Tingkat Keanekaragaman Spesies diperairan Laguna Kecamatan Leupung Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini metode <em>survey eksploratif</em> dengan melakukan observasi langsung pada lokasi dan objek pengamatan. Stasiun penelitian ditentukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling yaitu berdasarkan faktor fisik lingkungan. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini akan dianalisis secara kualitatif yaitu teknik analisis data dengan cara mendeskripsikan ciri-ciri morfologi dari setiap spesies ikan. Jumlah&nbsp; ikan yang ditemukan di Perairan Laguna Kecamatan Leupung Kabupaten Aceh Besar adalah 15 jenis yang mewakili 13 famili. Ikan yang mendominasi di Peraiaran Laguna Gampoeng Pulot adalah <em>Stolephorus heterolubus, </em>sedangkan di Peraiaran Laguna Gampoeng Cot Bak ue adalah <em>Crenimungil silabis</em>. Indeks Keanekaragaman Spesies Ikan yang Terdapat Diperaiaran Laguna Kecamatan Leupung Kabupaten Aceh Besar tergolong kategori keanekaragaman tingkat sedang dengan indeks keanekaragaman yaitu Ĥ=<strong>-</strong>2,5706. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana sistem pengelolaan limbah medis padat infeksius di Rumah Sakit Umum Muhammad Ali Kasim (RSUMAK), Kabupaten Gayo Lues, khususnya pada tahap pemilahan, pengumpulan, pengangkutan, dan penyimpanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam, serta analisis data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan limbah medis padat infeksius di RSUMAK masih belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan standar yang ditetapkan dalam Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan Nomor 1204 tentang Kesehatan Lingkungan Rumah Sakit dan Peraturan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Nomor 56 Tahun 2015 tentang Pengelolaan Limbah Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3). Beberapa kelemahan yang ditemukan antara lain pemilahan limbah yang belum maksimal, tidak adanya jalur khusus untuk mengangkut limbah, serta penggunaan alat transportasi yang belum memenuhi standar keamanan dan kebersihan. Global climate change due to increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, N2O, CFC) has had a negative impact on the environment. CO2 levels continue to increase from year to year due to human activities, therefore efforts are needed to improve this situation, one of which is restoration activities. Restoration is an activity carried out to restore forest functions and restore the condition of forests whose ecosystems have been damaged. One of the functions of forests is to supply oxygen and absorb carbon. Until now, research on carbon storage has never been carried out in the Bengkelang restoration area. This research aims to determine the potential for litter biomass storage and the potential for carbon storage in litter biomass in the Workshopang restoration area. The methods used in the research consist of research methods in the field and research methods in the laboratory. The research method in the field is a collaboration between the line transect method and the quadratic method and sampling is carried out using a destructive method (harvesting) with a plot area of 1 m x 1 m and litter sampling. Meanwhile, the research method in the laboratory is determining the dry weight of litter biomass samples. Carbon savings are obtained by converting 0.47 (47%) of the biomass yield. The results of research in the Bengkelang restoration area were that the litter biomass deposits in the Bengkelang restoration forest were 9,421 kg. L) dan Kulit Kopi (Coffea arabica) Menjadi Briket dengan Menggunakan Getah Pinus (Pinus merkusii) Sebagai Perekat https://journal.ar-raniry.ac.id/JLCTS/article/view/6791 <p><em>Biomass is an alternative energy from forestry and agricultural waste which is considered useless, the quantity of biomass energy is quite abundant but its use has not been optimized. Briquettes are one of the abundant utilization of biomass. Cocoa husks, coffee husks and pine bark are the sources of biomass used in this study. The comparison combination determines the quality of the briquettes. The aims of the research were the calorific value, moisture content, ash content, volatile matter content, density, and fixed carbon based on the comparison of the concentrations of cocoa shells and coffee skins. The percentage of pine resin adhesive in each sample was 50%, while the percentage of cocoa skin and coffee skin A was 75% : 25%, B 25% : 75%, C 50% : 50%, D 90% : 10% and E 10% : 90%. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelimpahan mikroplastik dan efektivitas media pasir&nbsp; dalam mengurangi mikroplastik di daerah Tambak Ikan Syiah Kuala. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen laboratorium dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan pengambilan sampel, preparasi sampel dan analisis mikroskopis. Identifikasi menggunakan mikroskop binokuler dengan perbesaran 4×10, dan identifikasi kelimpahan serta menguji efektivitas media pasir laut. Jenis mikroplastik yang ditemukan adalah fiber, film, dan fragmen. Kelimpahan mikroplastik pada air tambak lebih banyak ditemukan pada titik sampel inlet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan jumlah mikroplastik setelah air tambak disaring melalui pasir laut yang telah dipanaskan. Mikroplastik jenis fiber setelah difiltrasi mengalami penurunan sebesar 86,6%. Mikroplastik jenis film mencapai total penurunan jumlah sebesar 80%. Sedangkan mikroplastik jenis fragmen mengalami penurunan sebesar 65%.
