Abstract
Story Telling is one of the language development methods that can develop several physical and psychological aspects of children according to their stage of development. However, the problem found in Cinta Ananda Kindergarten is that there are still children who have difficulty expressing themselves in speaking and conveying information obtained through spoken language, namely children who are not able to pronounce words/letters, are less precise and less fluent in pronouncing words, opinions. This study aims to determine the use of the Story Telling method with animal costume media in developing an understanding of expressive language for children aged 5-6 years at Cinta Ananda Kindergarten. This type of research uses quantitative research with the type of pre-experimental design using one group pre-test post-test design. The analytical technique used is a paired test which is tested for normality test prerequisites. The sample in this study were group B children who collected 23 subjects. Data collection with observation and documentation techniques. The results showed that the paired t test was significant at 0.05 with t count 8.353 and t table 2.069 because 8.353 2.069 then H0 was rejected. Ha was accepted so that there was the use of the Story Telling method in developing an understanding of expressive language for early childhood in Cinta Ananda Kindergarten which can be said to be effective and very well developed. because the results of the t-test obtained p-value (0.000) which is less than the level of significance (0.05).
