Abstract
One part of the language aspect that needs to be prepared and developed in PAUD and Kindergarten (TK) age children to face the next level of education is the ability to recognize letters which can later develop into the ability to read the beginning of words. The ability to recognize letters is an ability that looks simple, but this ability must be mastered by kindergarten children because letter recognition, which develops into words, includes initial capital to master reading skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the roller alphabet game on the early reading ability of Aisyiah Bustanul Atfal Kindergarten children at Kedai Manggeng, Southwest Aceh Regency. The object of this research is as many as 16 kindergarten children class A. Data collection by means of observation and documentation. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively by using the t-test. The results of this study showed that there was an increase in initial reading ability of 66.20%. Statistically, using the t-test, it was also seen that there was a significant increase in children's reading ability, with tcount = 6.852 and this is greater than the t-table value of = 2.120. So it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the results of the initial reading ability test in Aisyiah Bustanul Atfal Manggeng Kindergarten children, Southwest Aceh District.
